What’s up, February?

maxima

It’s been a pretty packed February schedule, though things seem to be winding down a bit. I had a pretty good “you’ve grown older” week, a sorta okay Lunar New Year and a fair bit of fun and laughter, so I guess I can’t really complain. Much. As you can probably see, I’ve also acquired a couple of books since the year started. I’m not sure when I started acquiring artbooks (probably around the same time I started getting my own income), but my collection has grown at a frightening pace, as anyone who has seen my menacing towers of Continue reading

Let’s not rush into anything

Butterfly in the sun

It’s almost the end of January, and I obviously haven’t been keeping up with my blogging commitments. Maybe I just don’t have much to say. It’s been a pretty good month, mostly gaming, watching anime, and meeting up with a few friends here and there. That being said, I’ve had to cut back on a fair number of indulgences (not that I mind) in order to get my budget sorted. I do not, however, miss my old job. Not one bit. Quite a number of people I know are tying the knot this year. I’ve often been asked if I Continue reading

The year’s ending but the world didn’t

So yeah I was near the Hollywood sign.

So, I guess everyone made it through the Mayan apocalypse. Achievement unlocked! It’s been a while since I’ve been blogging, mainly because I’ve been sick for the past two weeks or so. That being said, maybe it wasn’t a bad thing because Christmas this year didn’t really feel… Christmassy. Again, I did spend a fair bit of pre-/post-Christmas in bed due to a combination of flu and medication which made me drowsy. That being said, I guess it’s the end of the year again, where people look back and reflect on their goals for the year that has past and Continue reading

Black Friday & Cyber Monday sales damage assessment

Yes bitch, you lose if you can't draw cards

Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales are finally over, and it’s time to look at the damage to my wallet (well technically the damage was done to my credit cards, but well, let’s not get into that). The Steam Autumn Sale, surprisingly, did not do the bulk of the damage. Which is good, considering Steam sales were originally only in Winter, then Summer. At this rate, I’m gonna own a huge chunk of the Steam library soon. I started up with Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013, which is nice for the fact except that I can’t fully Continue reading

What have I done?! A tale of Apples, iPhones and Androids

The Apple iPhone 5

As some of you might already know, a day ago, I made the biggest betrayal in the technological world. I switched from an Android phone, to the iPhone 5. Around the world, millions of Android fanboys issue digitally-warrants for my death. Apple fans guard me 24 hours a day for fear that their latest convert will become a victim of the never-ending smartphone war. Missiles powered by Google Map’s location targeting system are probably being aimed at my house as I write this, and Apple is launching spy satellites and its own Iron Dome to counter the Google threat. I Continue reading
